Title I Parent Engagement Paraprofessional 182 Days-Job is contingent to Title I funding
Job Goal: To assist, support, and work closely with teachers, administrators, parents and other team members providing educational benefit for students and parental involvement.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or GED certificate. Preferred Associate’s Degree
2. Demonstrated aptitude for work to be performed.
3. Have at least two years of study (60 semester hours or 100 quarter hours) above the remedial level with a grade of “C” or better at a professional Standards Commission approved accredited institute of higher education; or
4. Earned an associate degree or higher or
5. Passed the State approved paraprofessional exam.
6. Ability to work a flexible schedule.
Responsibilities:
• Prompt and regular attendance.
• Assists with the development, execution, and assessment of a strategic plan for parent engagement.
• Assists in coordinating family outreach sessions on particular needs, issues and/or available resources.
• Helps to build partnerships between families, schools, and the community to support hard to reach families.
• Assists families in developing a better understanding of the Title I school and its programs designed to increase student achievement.
• Assists with coordination and implementation of Title I Parental Involvement workshops and meetings.
• Attends professional learning as appropriate or required.
• Maintains resources and materials for families.
• Helps maintain Title I family engagement documentation.
• Performs other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position as related to Title I and as assigned by the supervisor and Superintendent of Schools.
Physical Requirements:
Able to perform routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities including:
Medium Work: Exerting 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds as needed to move objects.
Terms of Employment:
Salary shall be paid consistent on the System’s approved salary schedule. Length of work year and hours of employment shall be established by the system.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the principal in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on classified evaluation.
