This is not a vacancy. This is to identify the interest of retired educators to support students in our Retired Educators Supporting Student Learning Achievement (RESSLA) program. This is funded through Title I and is used at the discretion of each school's available funding and needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Valid Professional Georgia Teaching Certificate in assigned area. • Prefer 10 or more years of experience in math and/or extensive training and experience in math instruction. • The ability to work successfully with other professionals. Proven organizational skills, effective oral and written communication and strong people skills • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• This is a part time/hourly position for our RESSLA program funded through Title I. • Must be available to work flexible hours. • Provides direct instruction to students identified as eligible for math services in individual or small group settings. • Uses a variety of manipulatives and hands-on activities to support content standards and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved. • Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects using formal and informal assessment data obtained from students. • Creates a learning environment and research-based program of study that are conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. • Provides written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor. • Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, administrative guidelines, or specific program requirements.
Physical Requirements:
Able to perform routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities including:
Medium Work: Exerting 50 pounds of force ocassionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds as needed to move objects.
Terms of Employment:
Salary is paid through Title I. This is based on assignments at an hourly rate: 6 weeks and no more than 19 hours per week.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated by the principal.
