190 Day Contract
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Valid Professional Georgia Teaching Certificate in Adapted Curriculum Special Education (P-12) and Special Education Academic
Content Concentration (P-5 and/or 4-8; as applicable)
2. The ability to work successfully with other professionals. Proven organizational skills, effective oral and written communication and
strong people skills.
3. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools find appropriate and acceptable.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prompt and regular attendance
- In person classroom instruction
- Instruct students based on Individualized Educational Plan (IEP)
- Developes lesson plans; identifies instructional materials; assesses equipment needs to augment instruction; maintains student data; utilizes a variety of instructional strategies to improve student achievement; and promotes positive student behavior
- Administers various types of assessments i.e. performance assessments, formal and informal assessments, etc. to monitor student progress and develop an IEP.
- Acts as a resource person in the classroom and the school
- Schedules and prepares relevant paperwork; and conducts IEP meeting
- Consults and collaborates with parents, teachers, administrators, and other professionals
- Participates in departmental meetings and professional learning activities
- Effectively communicate with parents as appropriate
- Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor or Superintendent of Schools
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 190-Day Calendar/Salary is commensurate with certification level and verifiable years of experience.
